Introduction

The Epson T-673 inks come in six colors - black, cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta and yellow.

To determine the durability of printouts, and compatibility with other post-printing processing, the printout is tested with two common solvents.

Solvents

Water and ethanol are common solvents that affect inks. Inks may be insoluble in both solvents, or soluble in water but not ethanol, or soluble in ethanol but not water, or soluble in both.

Results

The T-673 inks are very soluble in water. This is evident from the washed out look on the right, where a water droplet was dripped on it.

No effects from ethanol were observed on the left side.

Conclusions

Post-processing can be applied non-destructively with solutions based on ethanol.
